What is Adopt a Solar Cell?

Adopt a Solar Cell is a unique way for you to support the Chalmers Solar Team and become part of our journey to the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge in Australia.

By adopting one or more of the 385 solar cells on our race car Arvaker, you make a symbolic donation that directly contributes to the development, construction, and transport of our solar-powered vehicle. Each adopted cell will carry the name of its supporter — displayed on our solar cell map on this website.

You’ll receive a personalized printable certificate, and your adopted cell will be displayed on our website with your name. You can even choose exactly which cell you’d like to adopt from the ones still available. Whether you adopt one cell or an entire module, you’re helping us prove what student-driven solar technology can achieve.

How your contribution helps

The Chalmers Solar Team is a non-profit, student-run engineering project — and we rely entirely on sponsorships and donations to bring our car to life.

Your contribution through Adopt a Solar Cell helps us:

  • Build the car
    Every krona supports the development of our solar vehicle — including materials, batteries, solar panels, telemetry systems, and precision components like the carbon-fiber chassis.

  • Transport Arvaker to Australia
    Competing in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge requires safely shipping our race car and equipment from Sweden to Australia.

  • Promote sustainable innovation
    Your support allows us to demonstrate the potential of solar mobility and raise awareness around clean technologies, both locally and globally

By adopting a solar cell, you become part of our team and you are supporting hands-on innovation, international collaboration, and a more sustainable future.

How it works:

Step 1: Select your Solar Cell (s)

In this step you can select how many and which Solar cells you would like to adopt. The choice is yours!

Adopt a Solar Cell – Support Tiers

Supporter
1 Cell – 200 SEK
Make a personal contribution to the future of solar mobility. Your name will be linked to one solar cell on Arvaker.

Booster
3 Cells – 500 SEK
Support us with a bundle of solar cells. Your name will be linked to three solar cells and included in our list of official supporters.

Driver
5 Cells – 750 SEK
Take a more active role in our journey. Your name will appear on five cells, showing your strong commitment to innovation.

Powerhouse
10 Cells – 1,200 SEK
Fuel a significant portion of the car’s solar array. This tier reflects your role as a core supporter of the team’s success.

Trailblazer
20 Cells – 2,000 SEK
Adopt an entire solar module. This top-tier contribution will be specially highlighted — and helps bring Arvaker to the world stage.

Step 2: Make the Donation

Please make the donation. You have multiple options to do so.

Option 1) Swish – Fast and Convenient

When you want make the donation via swish, please select your prefered amount (e.g. 500 SEK) and state “AASC/Cell Code(s)/email adress” as a message. Maximum 50 characters allowed.
